Summer temperatures in Kyrgyzstan can get extremely hot; for an optimal travel experience, it is recommended to visit between April and June or late August and October.

Long multi-day hikers should opt for summer (June-September), while multiple-day hiking should go for spring (April – June or late August through October) or fall (late August- October) hikes are best during these seasons; when travelling within Kyrgyzstan proper then June through September is optimal (we went in May 1st 2 weeks, not too hot during the day but very chilly in high mountains – our timing was ideal as not many knew Kyrgyzstan was open for tourism so it was like we had the entire country to ourselves!).
